Think and Grow Rich; Napoleon Hill (1937)
Think and Grow Rich; Napoleon Hill (1937)

Have you ever read the book “Think and Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill? It was written in 1937, although it is as valid today as it was then. It’s not really about money, yet, it is. What a paradox!

Hill was given a glimpse of the idea that had created a vast empire for Andrew Carnegie, a great steel magnate in the early 1900s, who had grown ‘rich’ from applying the very method that the title suggests .. simply, think and grow rich. You really don’t need to read past the cover to get to the secret of the book, but it is an inspiration if you do. It will take you on a journey of miraculous thinking that has inspired its characters to greater heights than most of us would grant ourselves, and often, they arose from seemingly no credentials, against the odds, to be rich, famous, healthy or genius, but for the seed of a thought, nourished by their deep desire to succeed with the idea and their passion to see it become a reality. You are probably very familiar with some of them, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Dr Alexander Graham Bell ... well, you get my drift!

Again, I say, it’s not about money, but it is! It’s just that it is about so much more. It's about human potential.

It’s about a boy who was born without ears, in fact, without any of the parts required supposedly to hear with, and a father who was determined, and believed that his son would be ‘normal’ and hear like any other person. It’s about a mother who was determined, and believed that her son would be a genius, regardless of what the school said. It is about an inventor who was called ‘ignorant’ by supposed intellectuals, yet he invented an automobile that propelled us all into owning and driving cars as part of our day to day norm. It’s about a man who had nothing more than his thoughts and desire, who went into partnership with an inventor who, at that time, was changing the course of history and lighting up the world. It’s about thinking, believing, desiring, loving and the ether. It’s about you, it’s about me. It’s about quantum physics. It’s about what we all possess, the ability to think! The ability to feel! The ability to act!

It’s about consciousness moving energy into form.

This book is the culmination of hundreds of successful people agreeing with the concept ‘thoughts become things,’ and their applying it to their reality. It may have been written in the early 1900s, based upon the rich and successful of the time, yet it applies now just as readily, and it has been the catalyst for inspiring millions of deliberate creators, since its publication and through the many years to our now, in the early 2000s. Let me say it again; Think and Grow Rich.

So, what is your idea of rich? This book, and the movie of the same name, has been the seed that has grown into a forest that has captivated the attention of an audience across the planet. On every continent you will find people, like you and me, who have taken the concepts of this book and become rich. Some without even needing to read the book. All religions, all creeds, all colours, all levels of intelligence, all languages, all genders, all nationalities, all races. There are many who are millionaires and billionaires because of it. There are many who have established careers, businesses and technologies based upon the ideas in it. There are many who have walked out of hospitals, after they had been given up on by doctors and told that they had only hours to live. There are many who have improved their relationships and their families and their homes. Many who have simply just become happier … and isn’t happiness what we are all reaching for in everything that we desire! In fact, whatever you believe to be your ‘rich,’ then that is what this book has to give you. Think and grow your own rich.

And, if not this book or author, then find another who you resonate with. Someone who stirs within you the ability to think your life into your best expression of what you love. To follow your passion is what you are here to do. To do it abundantly, is your Divine right. For when you feel abundant, then you have something to offer others. When you feel joyous, then you are of benefit to the All.

In summary, the concept has been available to all who have dared to ask and to listen, throughout history. It’s in the bible and Eastern religious texts. There have been many who have taken the concepts of the book and brought them into our modern way of thinking; Oprah Winfrey, Bob Proctor, Abraham-Hicks and Rhonda Byrne’s ‘The Secret,’ are some or our modern day speakers giving voice to the power of our thoughts and the influence that we have on the world that we live in. You may find another way to get this information into your mind and into your daily living. Whatever your angle is, whatever is your best way of understanding, and of taking this information to heart, then you will find an avenue, because the teacher appears when the student is ready … just take the first step. And practice it. Then practice some more! Plant the seeds of right-minded thinking … and water them, nourish them with love and devotion. The universe does the rest, for it is simply in our faith that we allow it to come to us.

Finally, it doesn’t end there! APPLY IT TO YOUR OWN LIFE, apply it to those in your life, apply it to the whole world … and watch it grow richer, because in the very essence of nature is the desire to expand and extend itself, and you are that very miracle of nature. You are the miracle of life itself. And you are worth it.
